Abdominal massage, Chi Nei Tsang, is a powerful ancient therapeutical massage found in Thai and Chinese Medicine. Chi means energy and Nei Tsang means organs.
Negative emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety, worry can cause serious imbalances in the internal organs and damage overall health.
This abdominal massage involves a gentle technique that helps the internal organs to work more adequately and relieve emotional charges.

How does it work?
In the Tao system and the theory of Five elements, each organ is known to hold different negative emotions and each organ is connected with different body parts.
Table: Five elements theory
For example, the kidneys hold fear, the liver holds anger, the heart holds anxiety and the stomach holds worry.
All of us are exposed to these lower emotions and no one is immune.
If you feel fear, anger, worry or anxiety for extended period of time, our body becomes disbalanced by interrupted flow of vital energy causing our inner organs to disfunction.
This is leading to problems and pains in the muscular system and can potentially lead to a physical disease.
See the table.
When massaged intentionally, these lower emotions can be eliminated in the body and the healing occurs.
Emotional release through abdominal massage
When we don’t process emotions and traumas, they get stored in the abdominal area and are manifested on a physical level.
If the abdominal area is congested the whole energy of the body is blocked, slowly weakening the internal organs and decreasing energy and vitality, which causes the physical pain, injury or illness.
The root cause of the physical pain, injury or illness is coming from stress or emotional disbalance.
The latest studies are showing that your back pain is not coming from the bad posture, lack of physical exercise or such, but from the lack of sleep. And the main cause is stress, anxiety, etc.
By massaging the abdominal area, we can clean out the toxins, negative emotions and excessive heat or heat deficiencies that drains fluids in abdomen and cause the organs to dysfunction. That way we can prevent many diseases and even release muscle tensions.
Chi Nei Tsang is an internal organ massage which works directly over the navel and surrounding abdominal areas where stress, tension, and negative emotions accumulate.
Our main organs (liver, heart, kidneys, gallbladder, etc) are holding both physical and emotional tensions that are influencing our overall health.
The guts – The second brain
Dr. Micheal Gershon’s The Second Brain points to the importance of “the guts” and the role they play in maintaining our well-being.
Chi Nei Tsang treatments involve using a gentle, soft, and deep touch to the abdomen to detoxify, tonify and energize the internal organs to work more efficiently and to deal with unprocessed emotional charges.
Who is the abdominal massage for?
Everyone! Most people have experienced stagnate or blocked energy (qi, “chi”, prana) in their bodies. Infants experience blocked energy as colic, children experience illness or tummy aches, teens often hold excess toxins and negative emotions from hormone imbalances and poor eating habits, and adults experience stress, worry, fear, anger and/or anxiety.
How does a typical session look like?
You will be laying, dressed in comfortable clothes with your shirt pulled up to the rib cage and your legs resting on a pile of pillows.
Your abdomen will be warmed with palming oil massage strokes and then worked in a systematic sequence.
Using gentle, deep-tissue abdominal massage, the organs are worked to release emotions and balance the vital energy through the body.
All of the body’s systems, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, urinary, and reproductive are addressed in a session, which releases deep-seated tensions and restores vitality.
How will you feel?
After the treatment, detoxification takes place, and some people may feel tired for a day or two, some feel very light and lifted, and some feel an urge to cry and release.
Stored emotions tend to make our abdomen harder. In the blocked areas you might feel pain, discomfort and/or more sensations along the energy channel.
Our abdomen should be like baby’s, pliable and soft.
